Parents must inform the team who will normally be collecting the child and always inform them if someone else is going to collect the child, giving them a description and assigning a password. If an unknown or unauthorised person arrives to collect a child under no circumstances will the child be released even if the correct password is given. We require a photograph of any persons collecting the child. If a parent/ carer or a known person arrives to collect a child but is not in a state which is deemed suitable to care for a child (e.g. acting violently or under the influence of alcohol or other substances) we will not release them. We will call another authorised person to come and collect the child. |

We will abide by the law and ensure your data is store safely and for the term required. The Setting will comply with GDPR, 2018 and is registered with the ICO as a data controller. The team are not allowed to have parents or children as “friends” on networking sites such as Face book, Twitter, etc. Information sharing
Ongoing assessment is an integral part in delivering a unique programme of education. It is essential that you share information regarding your child’s development at home, likes/ dislikes, habits, capabilities, general health and safety with us. We do ask that you inform us immediately of any changes in address, phone number, Doctor etc |
Complaints

Wherever possible, complaints should be raised immediately with the Manager. We take all complaints seriously and aim to deal with any concerns promptly; you will receive a written response with-in 28 days detailing the actions taken. A record of all complaints will be kept for at least 3 years from the date of the last record and is accessible to Ofsted, parents and other officials upon request. We are regulated by Ofsted (The Office for Standards in Education). We believe that equality of opportunities for all those in our care is paramount and all our policies, procedures and practice will reflect the rights of all children and adults including those with special educational needs, a disability or venerable, all ethnic and cultural groups and those with English as an additional language. We have a zero tolerance attitude towards any form of discrimination and will challenge any inappropriate attitudes and practices. We have regard to the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) and Special educational needs and disability code of practice: 0 to 25 years, 2014(SEND) to provide appropriate learning opportunities for all children. We support the entitlement of all children to a broad balanced relevant curriculum. We have arrangements in place to support children with SEND. We will make reasonable adjustments for these children and record how we are supporting their needs. |

We are insured by Morton Michel all certificates are displayed on the notice board. Our childminders insurance covers Public Liability Insurance and Employers’ Liability Insurance. |
Safeguarding children

Child protection We all have a responsibility to keep every child safe and to ensure they have life chances and enter adulthood successfully. We follow our local authority guidelines, HM Government ‘What to do if you’re worried a child is being abused- summary' document and the EYFS (section 3) safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare procedure. Copies of these guidelines are available upon request. Children safety is maintained as the highest priority at all times both on and off premises. Every attempt is made through carrying out the Outings Procedure, Safeguarding children and Child protection and Health and safety Procedure to ensure the security of children is maintained at all times. In the unlikely event of a child going missing, our Missing Child Procedure is followed. We will never give corporal punishment to a child and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that corporal punishment is not given by any person in the setting. Health and safety Our premises, including outdoor spaces, are fit for purpose. Spaces, furniture, equipment and toys are safe for the children to use and the premise is secured with security door, lockable double glazing windows and CCTV. We keep the premises and equipment clean and tidy, and comply with requirements for health and safety legislation (including hygiene requirements). |
Sickness, exclusion and infectious disease

Administering Medications: The Statutory Framework states, ‘medicines must not be administered unless they have been prescribed for a child by a doctor, dentist, nurse or pharmacist’. Only prescribed medicines will be administered with prior written permission. Children who are taking medication may attend provided they are not suffering from an infectious illness, are not displaying any signs or symptoms of illness and they are well enough to fully participate in Setting activities and outings; this is at the manager’s discretion. Parents may consult the NHS for more information. Antibiotics: We recommend parents administer the first doses of any new antibiotics and wait at least 24 hours before the child returns to the setting in-case of an allergic reaction. Epi-Pens: Please provide 2, in date Epi-pens in the original packaging. Head lice/ nits, Worms, Mites and Fleas: We recommend you treat your child, ensuring NO head lice, worms, mites or fleas are present 24hours before entering the setting out of courtesy for other children. If we find head lice etc, we will expect you to collect your child ASAP and treat. Do not bring the child back until they have been treated. Sickness/ Exclusions: If your child has had diarrhoea or vomited in the last 48 hours please do not bring them in to limit the spread of infection to babies etc. We follow the NHS Guidelines. Temperature- If your child has a temperature (regardless what it is due to), you must get them tested for COVID 19 and self isolate until you receive the results. Please do not give them Calpol or any other medication that disguises their temperature. We will not administer medication to control a temperature. |
What should your child bring in their LittleLites bag

- 1 x screw top spill proof cup for water (we operate a NO JUICE policy)
- 1 x bottle for milk and formula milk in the bottle
- One full change of clothes, more if toilet training
- 3-4 Nappies (Only provide pull-ups for children toilet training)
- Comforter/ teething ring if required
- Hanky or bib for teething and runny noses
- Spring/ summer: Sun hats, thin long sleeve top and sun cream (Please apply 1st application in the morning)
- Autumn/winter: Warn clothing for indoors, Outdoor coat, wellington boots, hat, scarf and gloves
- Parents providing pack lunches, we operate a healthy eating policy. Please only provide: Sandwich, fruits and a yogurt
Please label all belongings (name on bottles, draw-string bag, clothing etc.) We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings |
